Before things such as Instant Messaging and Text (SMS) Messages came around,

 there was email. Email is a way to send a large amount of text over the internet to

 someone else, like a letter.

What is it? : It is a productivity suite that allows you to send and receive messages

 and connect with people from around the world 

Benefits :

• to create and keep an index of contact, creating a digital address book.

• To keep track of important things using tasks - specify due dates, add notes

•  check items off the list synchronize with Google calendar. 

 

Your google account comes with it's own email address.

 

To get to gmail type gmail.com in the address bar.

 

 

Create an email message

 

Hit Compose

In the To box you need to put a valid email address

Subject - Should be a description of the message

Cc and Bcc - is to send a copy of the message and Bcc will send a copy of the message but receiver does not know the it was copied.

Next you will type the body of the message in the main area.

You may also use the paper clip icon

To attach files to the email.

Last step is to press blue send button.
